Frequently asked questions

Which lunar calendar does the app follow?

It is computed for Vietnam time (UTC+7), not taken from the Chinese calendar. The two differ by a whole month in some years — Tet 1985 fell on 21 January in Vietnam but 20 February in China.

Why is Thanh Minh not on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month?

Because Thanh Minh is a solar term, derived from the sun’s position, not a fixed lunar date. The app derives it from the solar term.

Why should the auspiciousness score match across screens?

It is a rule of the app: one day has exactly one number, shown identically on Day detail, Pick a date, Home and the widget. If you ever see them disagree, that is a bug — please tell us.

Will I lose my anniversary book when I change phones?

By default the data lives only on the device, so uninstalling loses it. Turn on Google Drive sync in Settings and the book is stored in the app’s private area of your own Drive; a new phone signed in to the same Google account can pull it back.

The compass says my phone has no sensor

Your phone has no magnetometer. The app still shows the compass face in a static mode, but it cannot measure a real heading.

My anniversary reminder did not fire

Check two things: the Notifications permission, and the Alarms & reminders permission in Android settings. Without the second one reminders still run but may be late.

How do I delete all my data?

Settings → Privacy & data → “Delete data on this device”. This also removes the Google Drive copy if you ever enabled sync.

Does the app show ads?

The free version shows one banner above the navigation bar on five main screens. There are never ads in the prayer reader, the bell and wooden-fish screens, the prayer-bead counter, or anywhere in the anniversary book. Buying Premium removes all ads.

Reporting content errors

If a prayer, festival date or Lo Ban table does not match the tradition where you live, please email us with a reference. We take this seriously — getting spiritual content wrong is not a minor matter.
